Ambassadors Network

The ambassadors is a Network of like-minded people from different cultures and communities that share a common interest in other lifestyles and cultures Integration. They represent the World Roots Culture Exchange in their communities and the interest of their communities in the World Roots Culture Exchange Community. With our Ambassadors we expand the organization’s reach and public awareness. Our  ambassadors are individuals or groups/enterprise/organization. they represent Portland Maine diverse community and World Roots Culture Exchange in their private/public environment while not necessarily being an everyday team  member of the World Roots Culture Exchange. Our Ambassadors are friends of the World Roots Culture Exchange . Once you become our Ambassador you benefit from regular social events, a growing network of professional contacts that are working with us to simultaneously spread the organization’s mission and Vision .

We partner with culture groups, churches and community leaders and train them to become our local ambassadors within Portland’s diverse immigrant and refugee communities to represent us in their community and help us to achieve our vision of Integrating and orienting new community members in Portland, Maine .

• In partnership with World Roots Culture Exchange Our Ambassadors Host and Coordinate monthly or yearly social or cultural events that celebrate a specific cultural occasion in our communities and offer our friends and neighbors an opportunity to learn about traditions and norms.

 

• Our Ambassadors - Participate in our community meetings that aim to promote and build cultural literacy among New Mainers and mobilize their community members that are in need of such service to participate . ​
• Our Ambassadors - Opens opportunities for culinary diplomacy including field trips to build cultural literacy among Mainers (sharing food among groups to build social and cultural understanding) and special events around U.S. holidays that may be unfamiliar or new. 
  
  
• Our Ambassadors - are committed to supporting each other by exchanging knowledge, expertise and sharing experiences, as well as supporting the World Roots Culture Exchange .
• Our Ambassadors who have a position of Representing World Roots Culture Exchange in their community will operate on our three cornerstones :  They will welcome and integrate newcomers to their community group ; Support our discussions that bring understanding and knowledge about our different culture; and help us in celebration of our diversity. ​

In partnership with World Roots Culture Exchange and Ambassadors organize conversations that host a specific cultural group member to share about their history , traditions and culture. how they communicate, and how they operate. It also means understanding the structure, leadership, activities ,values, perspectives, styles, dance ,music and priorities of cultural groups in our community. 

As we gain knowledge and  understanding of our cultural groups we will be organizing discussions to envision the kind of diverse community, we may want to consider living as neighbors . Using some of the real and tough questions that people grapple with on a daily basis. These questions point to some of the tensions that arise as we try to build harmonious, active, and diverse communities in  state and city as a complex as ours. There are no easy answers ; but we will  all learn as we go.
