Compassion is the key. While empathy is the tendency to feel others' emotions and take them on as if you were feeling them, compassion is the intent to contribute to the happiness and well-being of others. Compassion, therefore, is more proactive, which means we can make a habit of it.” ~Lionel Valdellon, Medium Magazine
World Roots Culture Exchange has a focus of bridging communities through the arts, compassionate education, and cultural exchange. Our goal is to unify the community around the values of compassion, love, and service to others. Our Compassionate Leadership Project aims to create a worldwide network of compassionate leaders, whether a parent, manager, colleague, friend or peer, who are trained in and leading with:
- compassionate nonviolent communication
- reflective and active listening
- coping, social, and behavioral skills
- bullying prevention and intervention
- de-escalation and conflict resolution strategies
- cultural competency
Compassionate leadership begins with the intention to see as others see and feel as others feel. By practicing genuine empathy, leaders are better positioned to cultivate mindfulness in others, enabling them to both fulfill their own potential and to unleash it in those around them for a greater good.” -Margie Warrell, Forbes
Compassionate leaders are those who lead from within, those who have the ability to inspire others through encouragement and empowerment. When you treat people with compassion they never forget. Everyone has an impact and plays a leadership role. Together lets's shift into a culture of compassion that has yet to be seen and that will inspire generations to come. We are looking to expand our leadership team. If you are interested in getting involved, please sign up below or send us an email at [email protected]
