Partners Network

The Partners Network

The Partners Network strengthens the integration and orientation process through increasing the capacity of communities to support and care for immigrants and refugees in Maine by creating an extensive social and educational network in areas where immigrants and refugees are particularly vulnerable. Our goal is to cultivate amobilize community action and foster public engagement around issues relating to immigrants  and refugees with the objective of catalyzing profound social change, self help, community development, and generating action.
The partners Network addresses issues relating to immigrants and refugees in Maine through the collaboration, communication, and the creation of a common vision between governmental institutions, non profit organizations, and local communities .

The partners Network  operates on two subprograms  to cover the needs of immigrants and refugees who are integrating into the American community on all levels: physically, spiritually and emotionally. Our work  specifically works on both individual and family challenges.

Our two subprograms are :

Cultural Orientation
We collect and provide comprehensive orientation information to New Mainers on Maine’s cultural, legal, political, and social norms to support the cultural literacy of refugees and immigrants, increase opportunities for inclusion, and speed the path to integration.

Cultural Integration

We  support and assist New Mainers in the City of Portland as they strive to build cultural understanding and awareness to successfully integrate into society as productive and engaged residents.

Partnership Core Aim

The Integration and personal Success of Immigrants and Refugees and Our partners' visions to help Immigrants is the core aim of the Partners Network . We work with people on an individual level which allows us to follow up and make sure our services are impacting the lives of our people. So we have a process of  Integration and Orientation that is made up out of many different steps that shows how we get new community members and how we ensure that they achieve success.

Our process takes in consideration three important aspects of life . We aim to meet the 3 key components  that we are very convinced that if you work on them one can Integrate  and exhibit their full self and contribute to the community.
3 keys to self Integration

  1. Physical
  2. Mental
  3. Spiritual
Environmental factors are critical to consider when you are looking at these 3 parts of self Integration . Such factors shape each part of self Integration in a community -  We create a safe environment that allows new community members  to be well oriented, integrated, and inspired to share one’s culture , values, norms ….. etc.
In appealing to environmental factors, We consider the difference of generations, privacy  and offer sustainable solutions to both youth and parents
  • Parental based Environment to meet  families and Parents self Integration.
  • Youth based Environment to meet Youth self Integration.
We use this approach to be able to assist them and follow up to make sure that they are being healthily integrated in all areas of their life.

            ORIENTATION AND INTEGRATION PROCESS

  • We create relationships with community leaders, church leaders, cultural group leaders and request for them to become our Ambassadors to guide Immigrants and Refugees to us to be helped with their Integration Process.
  • We partner with the governmental institutions like General Assistance and others to recommend immigrants to visit our offices and be assisted in their integration process.
  • We go to places that we think we can introduce ourselves to new immigrants and refugees through our Ambassadors' sites, meet with community leaders, and create events that aim to attract and connect with new immigrants and see how we can help to accelerate and make their integration process a more positive experience in Maine .
  • We also use social media to attract immigrants and refugees to our services, as well as community support and Ambassadors.
  • We identify and build relationships and then follow up and register immigrants and refugees to be helped with our networks.
